1. About the seller

This website is the official site for Bound in Freedom by E.L. Pepple. The seller of books ordered here is [SELLER LEGAL NAME], of [BUSINESS CONTACT ADDRESS].

Customer support is at [CONTACT EMAIL]. That address covers orders, delivery, cancellations and returns.

2. Products and availability

The website offers editions of Bound in Freedom. The first edition offered for pre-order is the paperback. Other formats may be added later. Product descriptions, formats and release information are intended to be accurate at the time you order. A format, price or date can change before you order. A change after a contract is formed is covered by the pre-order and cancellation sections.

An edition marked as not yet available cannot be bought until it is offered for sale on this website.

3. Prices

The paperback is £19.96. Prices are in pounds sterling. A delivery charge, and any other cost we add, is shown before you pay. The book price does not state a VAT treatment. It does not include customs duties or import taxes that a destination country may charge, unless checkout shows that such a charge is being collected.

If a price is displayed by mistake and is obvious as a mistake, we may decline the order and refund anything taken. We will not change the price of a book after the contract for that book has been formed.

4. Ordering and payment

You choose the edition and continue to Stripe’s hosted checkout to pay. Card details are entered on Stripe’s pages, not on this website. When payment has been received, we email an order confirmation to the address you gave.

The contract is formed when payment has been received and we send that confirmation. Listing a book, or opening the payment page, does not by itself create a contract. We may decline an order if the book cannot be supplied, the price was shown in error, or payment is not received. If we decline an order after taking payment, we refund the amount taken, using the same payment method where we can.

5. Pre-orders

The paperback is expected to be published between 30 November and 6 December 2026. That is a publication window, not a delivery date, and not a promise that the book will leave us on the day it is published.

We dispatch pre-orders after the book is available to us, within the dispatch period on the Shipping & Returns page. We do not guarantee a delivery date.

If publication or dispatch will be later than we told you, we will write with a revised expectation. You may cancel a pre-order before dispatch and receive a refund of the price and any delivery charge paid. A pre-order does not remove the cancellation rights that apply after a physical book is delivered.

6. Pre-order promotion

A qualifying paperback pre-order is intended to include three benefits: complimentary entry to the book launch, a drinks voucher, and a complimentary audiobook when that edition is released. The offer is intended to close on 21 January 2027.

Eligibility

The proposed rule is that the offer applies to one paperback ordered through this website, paid for, and not cancelled, where the order is placed on or before 21 January 2027. It is for the customer named on the order. It is not transferable, and it does not include an extra guest, unless we say so in the message that explains the benefit.

Redemption and communication

We will email the order address to explain how to use each benefit. A benefit can be used only after that message. Please keep the order confirmation so we can match you to the purchase.

Availability

These terms do not fix a venue, an event date, the value of the drinks voucher, or the way the audiobook file or code will be supplied. Those practical details will be in the message about the benefit. Complimentary entry is for the launch itself. The voucher is for use in connection with that launch. The audiobook is supplied when the audiobook edition is released, at no extra charge for that copy.

Audiobook

The complimentary audiobook is a copy of Bound in Freedom for the eligible customer. It is not a promise that the audiobook will be released on a particular date. If the audiobook is not released, that benefit falls away. The paperback order remains in place.

Changes to the launch

We may change the date, place or format of the launch. We will write to eligible customers if we do. If a benefit cannot be provided, we will offer a reasonable alternative or withdraw that benefit. Withdrawing a benefit does not cancel the book, and it does not reduce your rights in the book itself.

7. Delivery

Delivery, dispatch and the practical returns steps are set out on the Shipping & Returns page, which forms part of these terms. International delivery is intended. We can post only to a destination offered at checkout, and only at the charge shown there before you pay. If your country is not offered, we cannot form a contract to deliver there.

Risk in a physical book passes to you when the book is delivered to the address you gave, or to a person you or the carrier identified to receive it. Until then, the book is at our risk.

8. Cancellation rights

If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom, you can cancel most distance contracts for physical goods. These terms do not remove that right. A pre-order does not remove it either.

Before dispatch

You may cancel a pre-order, or any other order, before we dispatch it. Write to us and say that you want to cancel. You do not need to give a reason. We refund the price of the book and any delivery charge paid.

After delivery

For an eligible physical book, you have 14 days to change your mind. The 14 days start on the day after the day the book is delivered. To cancel, write to us within that period and state clearly that you are cancelling. You may use your own words. If you want a model form, say so and we will send one.

After you tell us, you have 14 days to send the book back. The return steps, including the address and who pays postage, are on the Shipping & Returns page. For this kind of cancellation, you pay the direct cost of returning the book, unless we have failed to tell you that you must pay it, or the book is faulty or not what you ordered.

You may look at the book as you could in a shop. If you handle it beyond that and reduce its value, we may reduce the refund to reflect the reduction. Opening the book to inspect it is not, by itself, a reason to reduce the refund.

9. Faulty or incorrect products

A physical book must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. If it is faulty, damaged, or not the book you ordered, you can reject it, ask for a repair or replacement, or ask for a price reduction, as the Consumer Rights Act 2015 provides. The short-term right to reject a faulty book, and receive a refund, lasts for 30 days after delivery. These remedies are not limited to the 14-day change-of-mind period.

Write to us with your order details and a short description of the problem. Where the law requires us to bear the cost of return, you will not be asked to pay it. A photograph is helpful, and it is not a condition of your rights.

10. Refunds

A cancellation refund covers the price of the book and the standard delivery charge you paid. If you chose a more expensive delivery option than the least expensive standard option we offered, we refund the standard amount. We refund within 14 days of receiving the book back, or of receiving evidence that you have sent it, whichever is sooner. If we have not dispatched the book, we refund within 14 days of your cancellation.

A refund for a faulty, damaged or incorrect book is a statutory remedy. It is not limited to the timetable or the deductions that apply to a change of mind. We refund the amount the law requires, which may include delivery charges and the reasonable cost of return.

Refunds go back by the same payment method, unless you agree to another method. We do not charge a fee for the refund.

11. Digital products

E-books and audiobooks are not offered for sale on this website. Nothing in this section is a term of a current purchase. The complimentary audiobook in the pre-order promotion is a promotional benefit, not a separate digital sale.

If a digital edition is later offered for sale, we will show the price, the main characteristics, and how it will be supplied before you pay. Digital content has its own cancellation rules. We will not supply a digital purchase during the cancellation period, and we will not treat the cancellation right as lost, unless you have expressly asked for immediate supply and acknowledged that you will lose the cancellation right. That request and acknowledgement must be collected before supply. Until a digital edition is actually on sale, those steps are not in use.

12. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any liability that the law does not allow us to limit or exclude. Your statutory rights are not affected.

Where the law allows a limit, and the claim is not one of the claims above, our liability for a failure in the contract is limited to the amount you paid for the book and its delivery. We are not liable for loss that was not foreseeable when the contract was formed. Loss is foreseeable when it is an obvious consequence, or when both of us knew it might happen.

We do not exclude liability for a book that is faulty, damaged or not as described.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales can hear a dispute. If you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom, or in another country, you may also bring a claim in the courts of your home where the law gives you that choice. You keep any mandatory protection of the law of your home. This section does not reduce those rights.

14. Contact

Write to [CONTACT EMAIL] about an order, a cancellation, a fault or these terms. Please include your name, the email address on the order, and what you are asking us to do.
